B+E Trailer Training
First Lesson
You will begin to learn to drive on the road with some start/stop basics and situational awareness and cockpit drills.
You should pay at the beginning of each lesson unless you have paid for a block booking in advance.
It would have to be arranged in advance and lesson times would have to be no later than 15:00
On your first lesson you will start to learn the basic cockpit drills. You will begin to learn to drive on the road with some start/stop basics and situational awareness. Future lessons will then be adapted to suit how confident and competent the learner is.
This will depend on your driving competency. If you are a beginner then motorway driving would not happen until later in your driving experience.
Booking a Lesson
Phone call is preferred, but if I’m teaching I may not be able to answer straight away. You can always ring the landline and leave a message and you will be called back as soon as possible.
Normally within 2 weeks, but it is dependent on the number of students I have at the time of the call.
Yes with prior arrangement and these will be charged at £28 per hour.

Cancellations
If lessons are cancelled within 24 hour’s notice, then these will be charged for due to the short notice given.
Payment
Payment can be paid for by bank transfer or cash.
Test Day
Test dates need to be agreed with Andrew before these are booked, to ensure the car is available. The car will be charged for the duration of the test. You will need to bring your provisional driving licence with you to the test centre.
B+E Trailer Training
None – you can learn to tow a trailer as long as you have passed your driving test. An assessment can be carried out to estimate how long you may need.
The sessions will be booked to coincide with your B&E test date which will be mutually agreed between yourself and Andrew.
This will depend on which test centre you will be booked at. Driving and all the manoeuvres will be done in the local area to the test centre.
You will normally continue your training in the run up to your test slot, so please ensure you have your driving licence with you.
We cover most of the North West HGV test centres, which are Kirkham, Carlisle, Atherton (Manchester), Wrexham and Harlescott (Shrewsbury).
Yes all parts of your driving will be under examination on the test, which includes your driving style. Andrew will help you to identify areas which need to be improved in preparation for your test.
A 50% non-refundable deposit will need to be paid to secure your place on the trailer training, with the remainder being paid on completion. The cost does not include the test fee. You have the option to book the test yourself through https://www.gov.uk/book-driving-test or we can do it for you, but the cost will be added to your payment for the training. Payment can be made either through BACS or cash in advance.
